In the following week I discovered more of Kristiansand, went on a boat trip and also went to Grimstad with María, the other intern.
Grimstad is a small town at the seaside and it's a 45 minutes bus ride away from Kristiansand. A part of the University of Agder is located in Grimstad and we arrived there they showed us around. In Grimstad they offer mainly engineering and nursing. We saw all the important parts of the university there and it was very impressive. It was very practical and some rooms seemed like a real working place. For example one part looked like a real hospital. Later we got to see the beach, the town center and the harbor there. At two o'clock we helped to prepare some waffles because at three there was coffee hour. Coffee hour takes place every Tuesday in Kristiansand and every second Wednesday in Grimstad. Everyone gets free waffles there and it's definitely a good opportunity to meet all the international students and just chat, drink coffee and tee and eat waffles.
Also, this week i went for a walk to the center in Kristiansand some days with my new friends here. With my Norwegian flatmate I walked to the center to go shopping and to Starbucks which is very close to the town hall. Everything is very close in the center so you can walk everywhere. Later, we went to a restaurant at the fish market and then to a bar in the center which is called Charlies Bar. On Saturday some of my German friends, my Norwegian flatmates and me went shopping to the sørlandssenteret which is a very big shopping center in Kristiansand. There you find everything and we bought some outdoor clothes for our planned trip to "Trolltunga". There are also a lot of restaurants and we stayed there to eat as well. At night I went out to Harvey's to party which was fun and we decided to go on a boat trip the next day.
The boat trip on Sunday was so nice. We were very lucky with the weather and we saw such beautiful and cute houses there. Every house has a boat in front of there house and some of them even had their own beach. I definitely recommend to go on a boat trip like this. Especially when the weather is good because it is so beautiful there.
After the boat trip we went to aquarama swimming pool because they had free entrance that day for students. But I think I will go another time there because I enjoyed it very much. They have slides there and you can jump into the water from heights between one and ten meters high. I think that's fun but I was to scared to jump from the ten meters tower. They also have a spa part with sauna and you can swim in a pool which is outside with a view at the city beach.
